Holy Mountain (1973)

Holy Mountain (R) - Review

"Holy Guacamole!"

A thief is guided on a mystical quest by a wise alchemist on the pursuit of ultimate knowledge, or something like that.  A film heavily drenched in sacrilegion and psychotropic imagry, director Alejandro Jodorowsky's abrupt reversals in the script and starkly beautiful designs form a film unlike any other.  New Agey wouldn't begin to describe it, angry post 60s revolution is closer.  An intelligent yet violently amoral film, a truly unique and worthwhile piece of art. You'll see things you people wouldn't believe (and possible never forget).

9 Brutal Lizard Deaths out of 10 (GREAT)
